I have a single 3 phase circuit (feeder) serving 3 motors through a wireway. I plan on sizing my feeder overcurrent protection on 430-62 and my branch circuit protection at each motor on 430-52. My confusion lies with the way 430-62 describes the method of sizing overcurrent protection basically stating that the overcurrent device is sized based on the largest rating of overcurrent branch device plus the sum of the full load values. If my feeder device is a inverse time circuit breaker and my branch devices are fuses, do I take the largest fuse size and add my remaining motor loads to size my feeder device? Or do I assume, since I have a circuit breaker as my feeder device, the allowable value for a circuit breaker (250%) per table 430-52 as my branch device even though I am using fuses. Very confusing.
