Motor GF/SC protection

Hello,
I am currious... I was asked recently to size the maximum OCPD for a hard to start design B motor Energy Efficient Motor. According to 430.52(C)3Ex. 1 The code allows an increase up to 1300% for other than Design B, and up to 1700% for Design B Energy Efficient motors...
Question...
Do manufactures make or have they made an Design B motor that is not Energy Efficient?

Design B is basically a standard motor.
Once upon a time, there were no hi-efficiency motors, so the answer to your question is ‘yes’.
