motor in hazardous area

Does The Nec Require Me To Use An X-proof Or Rated Motor In A Class 1 Div 1 Location. Or Can I Use A Tefc (totally Enclosed Fan):-? ????.

You must use a motor rated for the installed location. That may mean the the motor may be a TEFC design, but it must still be rated for Class 1, Div 1.
