Motor Integral Thermal Protector in lieu Separate Overload Device

I have a 2hp 208v single phase motor that is permanently installed and can be automatically started by PLC output (Relay only not starter). The motor nameplate says "thermally protected" (no reset button). I am confused in the 2020 NEC about when "Separate Overload Protection" is required even when the motor is thermally protected. Does my motor require separate overload protection even though it is thermally protected?

A motor rated more than 1HP shall be protected by ONE of the means in 430.32(A)(1) through (A)(4).

Thermal protector (430.32(A)(2)) is one of those means. A separate overload is not required.
