I was recently at a job site and an equipment nameplate had I L = 156A and I N =48A. What do these stand for and what is the load of the motor?

Re: Motor Nameplates

Thanks Charlie. I was just wondering if it was any different because this piece of equipment is Italian. :)

Re: Motor Nameplates

I don't know if it was 50Hz or not. The voltage was listed as 440V.

I know it's not connected to a 50Hz system. Would that make the nameplate info incorrect?

Re: Motor Nameplates

Can you read the amperage with a clamp on meter?

Are the words "Cavallo Vapore" printed on the nameplate?

Take a look at the name plate instead of HP it may give a KW rating, Most european motors are rated by KW
