I have always be under the impression that you should never break the neutral in a control circuit. Then why is it OK and seamed pretty much practice to break the neutral with overload contacts.

Breaking the neutral (grounded load conductor) is only a problem when it is part of an edison circuit.

Re: Motor Overload control contact

To: iwire, Thank you, I had never seen the term used for a multi-wire circuit, called an Edison circuit.
Now, please explain, how did it get the name Edison. Is it because Thomas Edison came up with the idea of a multi-wire circuit. Just curious.
Thank-You men, be patient with this old retired eletrician. I just wish I had this communication forum when I was starting out. I hope you young fellas realize how fortunate you are with this Mike Holt Code Forum. God Bless Mike and Sarina.
