where can i find out about sizing up overload's on a starter for a 1 h.p. 1.7 amp motor.

The paperwork that comes with the motor starter for one, or manufacturers web site is a great place.

you may size up your overload by multiplying the full-load current by 1.15. However,recommended setting by motor's manufacturer should prevail

If you want the NEC reference, it's 430.32

1 h.p. and 1.7amps. Must be a 575v motor?
NEver seen one of those. Got a spec?
