Motor Rated Switch vs Non-Fused Disconnect Switch

Wanting to pick some of yalls brains on the two different types of switches. Most of my WAHP switches are shown to be connected to a 30A non-fused disconnect switch (safety switch) either to 480V 3P or 208V 1P. Protection would be provided at the circuit breaker since these are non-fused disconnects. Any reason to not use a motor rated switch in place of the safety switches for all 30A units?

WAHP? Some sort of Heat Pump?

Motor rated disconnects, usually listed under UL508C as a form of "manual motor controller", can only be used for motor loads, whereas a UL98 listed "safety switch" can be used anywhere. So if it is a heat pump and has a motor, then yes, you could use the UL508 listed motor switch.
