I have a 40 HP motor that is approximately 20 years old. The current VFD has failed and is no longer supported. We will be replacing it, but it occurs to me that we should consider replacing the motor also. The Current motor has been rebuilt at least once the specifications are: Lincoln, HP 40/10, A? 52/20, V? 460, FR 324T, RPM 1800, SER 900, MOD 3356378, CY 60. CEMS LTD serviced the motor last.

I would like to determine what the pay back time is for replacing the motor with a high efficiency model.
What are my choices for a replacement and associated costs?

It may be best to ask a couple of motor suppliers who can run the numbers for you.
It will depend upon the motor loading and the number of hours used per year.
