AC unit shows manual starting switch and the symbol is shown on the E drawings symbol list as shown below. When referencing the mechanical schedules for AC units( and this particular one) it says " provide unit mounted local disconnect switch". Is that the same device as the manual starting switch and thus a conflict or a different device entirely? Thanks.

Yes a thermal switch can be used as the local disconnect for the unit.

Hopefully your plans show if T2 is located at the unit.
If T2 js located out of sight of the unit, a disconnect would need to be at the unit.

The t2 is right at the AC unit as shown in the pic above.

Then you're good with that switch as the both the thermal protection and the disconnecting means.
