I received an old thickness planer for free. Previous owner had a lot of the wiring screwed up so I’m redoing everything but want to make sure it’s done right. Motor is 2hp single phase and will be wired for 240v. Plate on motor says code G (not sure if that is relevant) and 12 amps@230v.

The current motor starter is made by Square D,class 8536, type cg-22. Max hp rating 3hp for 230v.
First off…Is this suitable size starter for my motor? Thanks
