when megging a 3 phase 9 lead motor are the motor leads left connected together and the megger connected to the 3 wires left. on hi volts 9&6 8&5 7&4 is 1,2,3, connected to the meggar ? how would you connect ?

same question on megging thhn wire how is the megger connected to the wire?
 
Having absolutely never meggered anything, I would guess that you start with the leads connected, and if you read a problem, separate them and narrow it down (if there's a reason to do so.)
