Building a sliding cart to carry a maximum of 400 lbs up my attic steps. The cart will slide on two unirails mounted on both sides of the steps..The cart will be pulled and let down by two cable attached to the sliding cart. The other end of the cables will connect to a 1.25 inch rod connecting the motor and two 6 inch cable takeup reals. The steps are standard at 35 degree angle, 16 feet long, and 10 feet high. I plan to have a controller to change the direction and speed. Maximum speed of the sliding cart is 2 feet /second. I would like to run the motor with 110 volts. I need help selecting the type of motor, hp, torque, and rpm’s. If you need any more information please let me know. Thank You.

This is a forum on the National Electric Code, which covers premise wiring, not motor design. Ands this project could get into DIY wiring which is not allowed.
