I was wondering if anybody could help me out with a question. I wanted to know what the signifigance of the X/R value for motors is. I understand that it is the ratio of Reactance to Resistance in the motor, but what does this mean exactly, and how is it used in motor or system calculations. When and where is this X/R value used? Is the X/R value a way if stating the impedance of the motor, and if not, how is the impedance of the motor determined? I would appreciate any information that anyone could give me on this subject.
