For what purpose, i.e. how accurate do you need to be? If it's for sizing conductors or an OCPD, you use the NEC tables anyway. Table 430-148 says 5HP @ 230V 1 phase is 28A FLC, so that's 6.72kVA.

If sizing an OL heater, you use the actual motor nameplate.

If you are just curious, there are 746 watts per HP, and Watts divided by Power factor will give you VA. If you don't know the PF, you can assume .7 and be safe.
