Motorized screen disconnect switch

I am installing a motorized screen for a projector. The screen is low voltage controlled. Can I hard wire the motor on the screen or should I provide a switch to service it? Thanks for your t

You can hard wire it, but it needs a means of disconnect and locking. Assuming this is a small motor, that can take the form of a toggle switch with a padlock hasp.

will be in art 422 as this is an appliance.

But likely is under 1/8 HP and the branch circuit device should be allowed to be considered the disconnecting means for minimum code compliance. You are still allowed to place a switch nearby if you want. If you must have it lockable it would be by other standards and not NEC.
