Ok. Have been wondering this for a while....single phase motor with horsepower rated as follows....5-7.....or 7.5-10, and 10-15. What is the deal? are they (5-7) a five or a seven Hp? I have seen more and more of these motors on grain bins unload auger and fans lately, why are they rated like this???:-?

Manufacturing tolerances? ;)

Are they two-speed motors, or mult-voltages, such as 208/240v?

They are straight voltage motors, 230v. Customers have asked me "how does that work, or what does that mean, is it 5 or 7.5 hp" Been a hard question to answer.
I have no idea, if there is no spec with a pair of ratings. If you really want to know, contact the manufacturer.
