This one has come up a few times in my office. Mounting height for a control panel in a commercial kitchen make up air system. Does it fall under the 6' 7' rule or does it fall under the ADA rule 48"?
Sure hope it doesn't need to comply with ADA. If so then all the mechanical areas, non public access areas should be required to comply with ADA as well. Exhaust fan on the roof for mentioned hood? Better have an elevator and fairly flat roof to access it IAW ADA:roll:This one has come up a few times in my office. Mounting height for a control panel in a commercial kitchen make up air system. Thanks for the replies but they still don't give a clear answer to the original question. As far as the rooftop disconnects go they are not in an accessible space so they don't fall under the ADA rules. But the control panel could be considered in an accessible space. Anyone else want to weigh in on this? Any code references would be greatly appreciated.
