We had an elevator installer/provider on site installing the elevator equipment today and is asking us to remove the "Panel" housing the main OCPD, and the elevator SHUNT TRIP OCPD from the panel which is in the elevator room.
I'll back up. we have a transformer converting the power from 240v 3 phase to the required 120/208v 3 phase power to operate the elevator and cab lighting, the engineer had the transformer in the elevator room with the secondary OCPD for the panel in the elevator room. Inside the panel we have the circuit breakers for the pit and cab lighting as well as the shunt trip OCPD for the elevator. Well, the installer /provider wants the transformer and the elevator panel removed from the room. The electrician removed the transformer to just outside of the room but left the panel in the room. now the installer want the main OCPD (secondary transformer OCPD MCB) and the shunt trip circuit breaker out of the panel and out of the room . He is saying that those two breakers can not be in the room?
That the panel can stay with the cab and pit circuit breakers, but not the other two mains.
Is this guy "High"ly Confused? or are we missing something here.
Thanks.
