Hello all,
I am looking toward retirement in just a few years, I have been a certified mine electrician since 1996, I am interested in doing some light electrical work (no pun) to keep me busy when I fully or semi retire. Is there any kind of reciprocity into NEC, or what is the process to make the switch, dealing with a 250 amp service is more appealing than replacing 4,000 amp generator breakers as I get older. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

There's not much that the NEC and MSHA have in common that I have seen. I've never done any underground electrical but I've done some work in the offices for a local coal mine and did the annual ground testing for a gravel pit.
At the coal mine only the above ground offices and trailers were inspected. The gravel pit would have terrified most electricians since all the equipment was wired up with SO cord laid out on the ground everywhere.
