MTW Concuit Fill Question

I've tried searching the internet and looked through the 2008 NFPA 70 code book and I can not find my answer to a conduit fill question that I'm running into.

I have 18 AWG MTW wire (UL1015) and would like to run it in some EMT. I can not find anything on how to do that calculation in the NEC. When I do a search on the internet, they always reference THHN, THWN or TFFN. I know they have different jackets but I was wondering if they are the same as conduit fill characteristics.

Any Help would be appreciated. Does anybody have an easy conduit calculator for MTW wire that they could pass on the link?

Thanks,

You could try the old fashion, low-tech approach. If you know the outside diameter of the wire, just calculate its cross-sectional area. Then all you need do is to make sure you don't put into the conduit so many wires that they exceed a total of 40% of the internal cross-sectional area of the conduit.

Welcome to the forum.

Found these specs on the web:

Type MTW, 18 AWG:

Automation Direct, UL1015, 0.110" o.d.
Grainger, UL1015, 0.120" o.d.
General Cable, UL1015, 0.110" o.d.
Tevelec, UL1015, 0.108" o.d.
Houston Wire and Cable, UL1015, 0.109" o.d.

Yours should measure similarly.
