I am having a difference of opinion with a fellow electrician on table 220.55
for example: 6 18kw ranges. In my opinion the demand should be 22.8 kw per note #1.

His opinion is 26.3 kw . Who is correct?????

Off the top of my head, I'd say that you're both incorrect. How did the two of you arrive at those numbers?

26.25KW

Note 1 says that you take the demand from column c and then increase it by 5 percent for each kw over 12kw.

6 ranges in column c gives you a demand of 21kw, then because you have 18kw ranges you must increase the demand (18kw - 12kw = 5kw)

so 5kw would give 25% (5% for each kw over 12kw)

21kw x 125% = 26.25kw

Check your math 18-12 does not equal 5.

In my opinion neither.
I get 27.3.
Column C gives 21
Note 1 requires 5% increase for each KW over 12.
18-12=6
6x.05=.30
.30x21=6.3
21+6.3=27.3

That was the answer that I got too.

I think neither is correct. Col C say 21 kw for 6 ranges. 18kw is 6 more than 12Kw per note 1. 6 *5= .30 or 30 %.

30% of 21= 6.3
21 + 6.3= 27.3 kw
