In an apartment building the triplex enters a 400A 240V Fused Disconnect. Out of it into a trough. Out of the trough there are (32) CL200 meters. 31 of the meters feed a 4 circuit panel with a 240v 20A breaker, 15A 120v breaker, and 20A 120v breaker. The last meter feeds a 150A main breaker panel, that panel feeds another 100A main breaker panel, and that panel feeds a main lug load center.
What i am wanting to do is add a 200A service. It will have its own meter and feed 8 dwellings each with a small panel for a baseboard heater, a window unit, and range.
What i am wanting to know is how do i go about calculating what is existing load at the disconnect so that i will know if i can come off of the 400A disconnect with my service.
thank you in advance for any help
