I'm confused. 220.84(C)(2) calls for 1500VA to be included for each laundry (and small appliance) branch circuit. Then 220.84(C)(3) says that nameplate ratings must be included. It specifically mentions clothes dryer, but not washing machine.

Can I assume that if I have nameplate data on a washing machine it should be disregarded?

What about stacked washer/dryer units? Can I include the electric dryer and disregard the washing machine motor?

Since the washing machine is already covered under 220.84(C)(2) and is not mentioned in 220.84(C)(3) this seems like the right approach to me. Thoughts?

220.54 Electric Clothes Dryers ? Dwelling Unit(s). The
load for household electric clothes dryers in a dwelling
unit(s) shall be either 5000 watts (volt-amperes) or the
nameplate rating, whichever is larger, for each dryer
served. The use of the demand factors in Table 220.54 shall
be permitted. Where two or more single-phase dryers are
supplied by a 3-phase, 4-wire feeder or service, the total
load shall be calculated on,

Dryes are generall covered here,
Ranges 220.55,
the 1500 is a feeder demand applied to the laundry BC as triphase mentioned in 210.11 C
