I am designing a FA system for a three-story hotel that consists mostly of R-2 occupancy areas. There are small portions of the building that are devoted to occupancies A & B. Both of these occupancies are small enough to fall under exceptions to omit Automatic Smoke Detection and a Manual Fire Alarm, however, the R-2 portion requires Automatic Smoke Detection to actuate Occupant Notification. Will occupant notification throughout all occupancies be required or just the R-2 Occupancy?
