Multi-Outlet Surge Suppression assemblies

Does NEC Code allow for redundant extending of pre-manufactured surge suppression multi-outlet assemblies? This would be the plugging in of one multi-outlet assembly into another to feed multiple computer desks in a row.

The "pre-manufactured surge suppression multi-outlet assemblies" are known in the electrical trade as "relocatable power taps". The usage of "relocatable power taps" is not addressed by the NEC. The Scope of the NEC ends at a building's premises wiring system. Your premises wiring system, I'm guessing in your case, ends at the duplex receptacle in the wall of the office.

Contact your local Fire Marshall, as a real hazard exists. This past week, here in Austin, an elderly woman died in a house fire caused by failure of a relocatable power tap.
