Hey guys,
I'm working on a project where we designed a meter center and calling out for about 19 future meter disconnect combos. We're calling for conduit with pull strings to be installed from the meter center area to each future tenant's space. The electrical contractor working the job is suggesting instead of having 19 stub ups near the meter center area for future tenants, to install a wireway and run the conduit and pull strings from there to each future tenant's space.
We'd essentially end up with each of the 19 meter disconnect combos feeding into the wireway and from the wire to each individual tenant.
My initial thought is that this is a violation of 230.7, but I wanted to get some input from more experienced people on here. The way 230.7 reads it almost sounds like the service raceway can only have service conductors pass through it from that specific service. Am I interpreting that correctly? Or are we allowed to run each of the tenants service conductors inside a single raceway?
As always, I appreciate the help guys!
Thanks!
