Multi Tap Light

I tried to google this. What is a multi tap light. Does it mean you can run either 120/208 or 277/480 to it? Thanks.

multi tap ballasts accept different ranges of voltages. You need to see the spec for the ballast, it will tell you what voltages it accepts.
