What I have is:

A conference room, that will be used as a command center during power outages, ice/snow storms, ETC.

They want to change half of the lights to 120v and leave the rest of them on 277v, so they can power the 120v lights with a small generator.

I can't find Yay or Nay in the book. Help?

Only issue is separation of the voltages if both are in same jbox (like the switches). Use a box partition, commonly available.

Just to keep things clear, you can have both 120 and 277 in the same box without any divider.

If you have two switches side by side and you can measure more then 300 volts between them you will need a divider.

You will not always have more than 300 volts from a 120 volt switch to a 277 volt switch.
