Multi zone floor heat control

Client haz 3 zones of under tile heating cable. Note these would be separate zones, different
rooms, not all common. I know it's weird, but they want all the controls to be in one location. Client was wondering if there is a single multi zone capable controller vs using three individual stats/controllers. Anyone know of such a thing? I did a quick Google didn't come up with anything.

Following because I’m curious to hear responses , never come across this and not aware of a device that can achieve that

Yeah, I don't think there is such a thing. I think they will probably just need to have three separate t stats side by side. Just thought I would do my due diligence and double check with the group.
Most definitely, if it’s out there then there’s a 99% chance at least one member would be aware right lol,
I’m a fan of schluter DITRA-HEAT and work with the system pretty often and the t stats have WiFi capabilities now and I know other manufacturers do as well so it can be operated just like any smart t stat (nest, ecobee,) via app on their phone, but I’ve never seen a all in one device that will control all 3 zones and idk how that would work the way they are wired

Have you used the app? If you have multiple t stats is it laid out conveniently and nicely on the app? (Obvs going to be different for different products).

So that’s the thing , it’s laid out similar to nest , which is I think convenient but the feedback from customers using the app from another location for some reason hasn’t been great and doesn’t always work , but ive also had customers who have no issues whatsoever, but its laid out very convenient, i always push ditra because the product itself is solid , used it for years only had issues with the actual product twice and ditra sent new thermostats out immediately

Thanks. I'm gunna just try to talk them into installing them the normal way with a T stat for each space, in each space. It's going o be a pain for me to install all 3 in one spot because then I will have to extend the temp sensor and the power leads.

Yea man that would be ideal , I know if you extend or modify the ditra heat cables it voids the warranty, they allow you to extend the sensors but not the heat cables , I know that holds true with other manufactures as well I’m sure some allow it but I know for a fact some don’t

And t stats with WiFi capabilities is pretty standard with these systems today, not really familiar with other apps than the ditra heat I mentioned but I’m sure you can a product with a app that will meet there needs

Yeah that's a good idea. I'll tell them we can put the tstat in a closet or cabinet or some other spot out of sight and just control it with wifi.

I suppose you could use a single line voltage thermostat to operate a contactor for the 3 heat zones
That would depend on if the manufacturer approved the use of it with their product and allot of them don’t allow you to extend or modify the heat cables it voids the warranty

Seems absurd to not allow extension of the non heating lead part of the cable. Why would that matter? It's one of those things I would just do if I needed to. The warranty on these things is worthless anyway, since their not going to pay to rip up the floor.

One company makes these relay boxes that you might low in the floor and the tstat controls them.

I agree with you and I think it comes down to money honestly, the manufacturer doesn’t want you extending the cables and possibly getting any sq footage of floor heat for free
