Multiconductor CM type cable

This is the situation. Type CM multiconductor cable is installed in solid cable tray. Can we tap out of the cable tray in multiple locations and run the cable exposed to varios instuments? And is so does the 6' rule apply?

Thanks for your help

Re: Multiconductor CM type cable

A type CM cable certainly can be run exposed so there should be no problem. I don't know what 6' rule you are talking about. If the cable will be run vertically from floor to floor or in a shaft then you will want to use a riser rated cable (CMR) or a plenum rated cable (CMP) or run it in raceway.
