Okay, I'm getting up to speed on residential after doing commercial and industrial since 1985, damn economy!! I used 220.84 for the 74 apartments we will be doing and have enough raw feeder power. There are exisiting MDP's and 600-800A DP's. As I break out the demand load for floors of apartments and split them to small panel load units to use existing feeds, for say 5 apartments off of a breaker from a DP, do I have to size all feeders to demand load figured for just five apartments (ie. 45% for 5 as opposed to 23% for the entire building)? the building is 120/208 3 phase and I'm using the calculations. Is there anything else I should figure in besides the basics (VA at 3, 3000 sm. appl., 1500 for laundry, nameplate for fixed, ect.)? We are using a KW monitoring for each apartment so it can be charged by the owner for each apartment using CT's on individual apartment feeds. Nifty stuff, hooked into a processor so each apartment's KWH is automatically sent to the main processor and set for billing, no meter reader necessary.

Yup, knock it back to 45% for only five units, etc. As always, 310.15(B)(4)(b) as needed if single phase at each unit, but it sounds like you've got it.
