I’m installing 3-200amp service rated main breaker ATS’s on a 600amp service. ATS’s will be immediately to the side of the CT cabinet. Is a 600amp fused disconnect required between the CT and ATS’s?
 
Don't rely on me alone here, but my answer is no. The service disconnecting means for this facility is the three main breakers on the ATSs. I surmise that upstream of them is the service transformer, with the utility terminating on its primary. I believe that the secondary conductors must terminate on one or more overcurrent devices. The ATS main breakers can serve that need.
 
The only hiccup might be the available fault current, is this residential or commercial? It would be unlikely the fault current would exceed the breaker rating on a residential service, but might be an issue on a commercial service.
 
Seems to me that it would be required. Did the code change not get rid of the up to 6 disconnect rule ?
So therefore 1 main service disconnect would be required and it could allow the ATS’s be just non-service rated if so one chooses.

Up to six service disconnects in separate enclosures are still permitted. Assuming the ATS's are service rated, there is no requirement for a disconnect on the line side of the transfer switches.
