I'm working with a homeowner who wants the circuits for the gazebo fed from a panel in the house. The gazebo has infrared heaters, receptacles and lighting. The gazebo has a foundation, a floor, and a roof supported by beams, but no walls. The gazebo is located about 150' from the house. My understanding of 225.30 is that the gazebo will require it's own subpanel, since it is a separate structure and will have multiple branch circuits. The homeowner does not want a panel visible on their gazebo.
My questions for you all are:
  • Am I wrong? Can I feed the gazebo with multiple branch circuits?
  • If I'm not wrong, can the subpanel be located detached from the gazebo? If so, how far away?
  • Is the homeowner just SOL and they need to accept a panel on their gazebo or not have heaters in their gazebo?

1) the code does not permit multiple circuits for this application
2) a means of disconnect is required at the structure either inside or outside the structure nearest the point where the conductors enter. I would not permit a remote panel.
3) they need to accept a panel if they want that number of circuits

Would a panel in a small enclosure proximal to the gazebo fly?

Likely an AHJ call, but how close would a 'box' need to be to be considered part of the same structure.

Why no panel? The aesthetics? Can't it be disguised as something else to fit with the time period? I'm guessing this thing has a Victorian theme.

Suggest a stationary bench with a hinged seat like a storage compartment, and put the panel there.

I was thinking take the cover to a vinal sign or auto wrap place, and have them cover it with a pattern like this, or whatever she likes

Upsell her some stuff like this

Then she can sit in her gazebo and pretend she is a slightly aged but still ravishingly beautiful Victorian Heiress living in Edwardian times

bonus It needs to be a rain tight panel and branch circuits have to wired in uf or thhn wire, put panel outside on back side and don't forget your ground rod, and need main breaker if more than 6 breakers...
