I HAVE A MCC LINEUP WITH 1600AMP BUS THAT I AM FEEDING WITH A 1600AMP FEEDER BREAKER FROM A SUBSTATION THAT IS 600 FT AWAY, MY QUESTION IS WHAT WOULD BE THE RECOMMENDED FEEDER SIZE PER PHASE IN EITHER CONDUIT OR CABLE TRAY?

what is the operating voltage? What is the conductor material? What is the calculated load?

By the way, please turn off your caps. It is considered shouting.

if you assumed that this is a 480 volt MCC with 600 feet run ok,,

i based on THHN cable [ which this is common type ] 4-600KCM or 5 - 400KCM you probly have to run this in 5 inch conduct each phase due the size of wire but if you can get 500 KCM size that will be better choice there due voltage drop issuse there.

for cable tray i am not sure but i will let other personalles here to chime in here to get the correct info for cable tray set up.

Merci, Marc

Off the top of my head four sets of 600 copper or if you are very concerned with voltage drop five sets of 500 copper.

These would be in separate raceways or cables.

I recommend XHHW-2 which is a pretty tough insulation.
