Hi,
Looking at an industrial project with two feeders from an MCC (480V) to 50HP pumps outdoors. The pumps are to be enclosed in a small shed. There is also a 208V feeder to a panel for lights, heat, etc.
The engineered drawings show no local disconnects at the pumps. Aside from a disconnect to meet 430.102, I'm thinking the disconnects are required and would need to be located next to the 208V panel to meet article 225.32, 225.34.

Also, I question if we have an issue with 225.30. Would the two pump feeders constitute more than one supply?

Thoughts?

Thanks.

have you looked at 225.32 exception 1?

or 430.102 (B) exception to (1) and (2) paragraph (b)?

I seem to recall that the prohibition on more than one feeder or branch circuit might have been changed in the 2020 code.

I don't have a copy of the 2020 code so I am still looking at 2017.

"Industrial Project" can significantly effect the "basic:"rules.
See 225.30(E) and, as mentioned, 430.102(B) exceptions,.
(If VFDs are involved that can effect the use of disconnects or the wiring of them)

There are VFDs, they are local to the motors.
The industrial / qualified personnel / documented procedures exemptions could be taken here, but not in (my) good conscience. I have not seen a maintenance worker on this site that is what I would call "electrically qualified". Their use of good LOTO / ESWC practices is sketchy at best.
