Multiple occupancy sensors in one space

I have a large school bathroom with a couple of walls that prevents one ceiling mounted sensor from covering the whole area. I would like to use 3 for best coverage. The intent is motion in any of the coverage zones would keep all of the lights on. Are there some models that are intended for this sort of parallel operation? I don't see it mentioned on the standard ceiling units we spec. Thanks for any ideas.

How it would work depends on whether you are using line voltage sensors with integrated relays, or low voltage sensors with a combined power pack and relay. You might also want to use ultrasonic units in a bathroom, since they are able to "see" around corners and over partitions.

I agree with DT, in a large bathroom we would use one or more low voltage ultrasonic sensors wired back to an appropriate power pack.

I agree with both, but you may still require multiple sensors, and yes they are fine in parallel. You should be able to find how they are wired in the device's instructions. However, since you needed to ask this question, I suggest you contact your selected manufacture rep (Wattstopper, Sensorswitch, Hubbell) either directly or through a simply house and just ask them to provide you with a layout. Send a copy of the plan page and they will send you a layout and sell you the devices.

Yup, Wattstopper was more than happy to provide a wiring diagram for low voltage units wired in parallel and cut sheets for their ultrasonic units. Thanks for your help all.

Yep. Look up occupancy sensor, power pack, master, slave.
It tends to work better than parallel units doing its own thing since the master power pack will include the managerial functions to avoid false triggers.
