My boss brought up a idea for a building we’re are doing. He wanted to tie in one inverter that’s on a separate roof to a panel that’s in the pent house as a load side connection . Then tie in the other 3 inverters in the main election room as a supply side connection . I personally don’t like this idea as you don’t have one disconnect or one area with multiple discos to shut the oven system down when needed. Does anyone have thoughts on this ?

It's perfectly fine, code and safety wise. You just need clear directory placards per 705.10.

Utility might disagree and want a single disconnect. Which is not a reasonable requirement in my opinion, but I've been asked for it.

What NEC edition applies? Because if it is 2014 or later, rapid shutdown would be an issue, and you'd need a solution that your AHJ/fire department would accept. There is the option for shunt-trip controlled breakers, or shutting off the service as a whole, to satisfy this requirement. Shunt-trip controlled breakers don't usually satisfy the utility standards for an outside-mounted blade disconnect, but that is an unrelated purpose. It often doubles for rapid shutdown, but doesn't necessarily need to do so.
