We have an existing 15kV switchgear line-up operating at 12.47kV. The line-up is divided into three separate sections, bus A, bus B and bus C, each fed by a 1200A main circuit breaker. A new 30MVA, 69kV-12.47kV transformer is being installed outdoors adjacent to the switchgear building. A circuit breaker will be provided on the transformer primary.
I would like to connect three feeders from the transformer secondary directly to the main breakers that feed each bus. The installation meets the requirements of 240.21(C)(4).
We need a way to de-energize one of the feeders without disturbing the other two. My question is, am I allowed to connect the feeders to the transformer secondary using load-break elbow connectors?
Thanks.
