Hi All,

I have a question when it comes to code intent. We have one feeder that supplies two 1800kVA transformers at 13.8kV. Feeder is protected at 140 Amps via a circuit breaker which is within range per NEC 450.3(A). My question is does the code require INDIVIDUAL primary protection for EACH transformer? The conductor size is the same so there are technically no "feeder taps" so 240.21 would not apply. Please let me know your thoughts. The coordination curves are showing appropriate coordination without the additional protection on EACH transformer. I am not worried about secondary as we have CB's. Here is a pic below of a rough one line:

Please advicee!!!!

I don't think there is anything in the code that would prohibit that, but, of course, if you need to work on one, you have to de-energize both, and the same if the breaker trips.
