I have a gym job that I am working on, and let's say there are 10 treadmills. The owner of the gym has made mention of an enclosure that he has seen in other gyms that all the cords from the treadmills run into and basically the male end from the treadmills run into this enclosure and are concealed from immediate view, rather than having 10 seperate receptacles in the wall. Anyone know of such a product?

Sounds like there is a subpanel within site, and the cord ends are cut off and put in a j-box;
Or
the cord ends plugged in with a weather proof cover over them.

The plug is there so you don't have to call an electrician when someone gets there sock caught in the tread mill and have there toes removed. It can be unplugged.

Blood and gore don't go well with modern aesthetics.

Might be some sort of floor box.

Legrand makes many products for this. Bear in mind Mike these run $200 to $300 per unit. See evolution 6AT for poke thorugh or AF and AC series for raised floor and Floor Port, Pro Series and Source1 for slab apps. Call Bob or Rob tomorrow.

The owner is under the belief that this is some sort of magic box that will reduce the amount of HRs required for the treadmills, even though the last gym buildout I did with them had 10 tmills and they made it very clear "dedicated hot AND neutral for each treadmill". The only reason for something like this would be to reduce the amount of wall receptacles.

It's definetly not a subpanel but more like some type of spider box or plugmold inside the box or something I don't know.

The owner made mention in his email that "this could save thousands" so I promptly told the GC don't let him get his hopes up on this one saving any money.

Chris you have any link or anything for that part? When I try to google it all I get is the evolution of electricity.

have you looked in the wire-mold catalog??

have you looked in the wire-mold catalog??

Have you looked in the wire-mold catalog?? They make a style of floor mold, I call it a speed-bump, and then put a wire mold box or receptacle "turtle" on the end. Walker duct has several surface mount floor boxes.
