I ran across something odd today a Murray panel filled with 2 pole CH-BR230/c230 and single pull CH-BR120/C120 and CH-BR115/C115.
The panel is essentially almost full of these breakers which to me was odd.
Is it code compliant to use the above Cuttler Hammer breakers in this panel.

Only if the panel was approved to accept type BR breakers. Some were.

It's all about the breaker type, not necessarily the breaker brand.
Maybe a bit odd is they are all switch rated and HACR type

Thanks I am going to have to further research but I am thinking not compatible.
That might just mean they are some 30 years old. The requirement for showing HACR went away in the 90s.
Its just seemed super odd to fill a Murray with all CH.

Look at the Murray panel label. It either will or will not list BR breakers as acceptable.

Prior to Siemens buying the line, then discontinuing it the brand was Crouse-Hinds. Prior to Crouse-Hinds it was know as Murray. Siemens renamed it back to Murray.

If the panel was a pre Crouse-Hinds days it may very well have listed BR breakers on the label.

If this was Siemens/Murray then BR breakers were definitely NOT listed for it.

Thank you for your input
