We have two VFDs running identical motors. At one time they were used in conjunction with each other to mix a high protein product with that of a lower to attain a certain level. Both drives started at the same time, speeds were set manually, and alarms would sound if either failed for whatever. One is a MVX9000, the other a Powerflex 4.
We need to change this so the drives do not start via digital input, but Stop with one. The PF4 was easy we replaced the jumper 1-11 with one pole of a CR. It starts/stops via the keypad and stops when the CR is open.
The MVX appears to operate a bit different with its Parameter 30.12 and DI3 set at 18 for Run Enable. Setting 20.04 to 00 sets the commands to be determined by the Digital Keypad, but ignores my run enable parameter of DI3 (a second pole of the CR). Setting 20.04 to 01, enables the Stop at the Keypad and DI3, but ignores the keypad Start. An additional PB to start the MVX appears to be the easiest solution, unless I have missed another parameter.
The other solution is to have both Start with a PB or selector but that is to simple. I would like to know if I have missed something on the MVX.
