Yes. There is no ground fault circuitry in them.

I am not sure, but I don't think 2 single pole breakers will work. Well, mechanically they will work but electrically I don't think so.

You can use two single pole breakers with a handle tie. It's a weird set up, you still run the neutral to one of the single pole breakers. I have never used one, just heard about them. Google up GE MOD 3.

Did not know you can have two SP breakers with only one neutral. Interesting.

Actually each breaker must have a neutral pigtail connection for power, but may not need to actually supply/sink the circuit neutral current.
If the AFCI includes a GF detector, you are forced to use a double pole breaker with a common neutral connection. (That does work for an MWBC).

Thanks all. Originally posted after I went to GE's website and couldn't seem to find the info I needed. Spoke to tech support today and he assured me I can use 2 sp breakers with a handle-tie. Thanks again.
