No requirement for the fan.

If your talking about a light on the fan that would depend f that was the only lighting fixture in the room.

There must be a switched lighting outlet (yikes!) in the room, which can be either a fixed luminaire or a switched receptacle.

If you mean that a pull-chain-operated fan was added to a room with a switched receptacle, then no, you do not have to rewire.

Unless you are in Indiana where only the receptacle outlets in a bedroom are required to be AFCI protected.
