can anyone provide me with a tel# of a person or a place that helps with exam info.im taking april test.ive ordered the reference material suggested on experior (bus&law),mike holts electric theory,nfpa70&72,industrial motor control,low voltage wiring.im reading these books on my own but wonder if taking a class would be better?i dont know the costs of these class how long?ect.... i live in new york and would appreciate any feedback.

Don't forget your alarm stuff, too. I was told that a lot of people fail on the alarm portion. NFPA 72 is a must have but it's not just on fire alarms.

I used Mike's books and tapes for weeks. Studied every night for at least 2 hours and took every practice test I could get my hands on.

Good luck. It's a hard test, but very passable.

Take a class...you took drivers ed., right? Being an EC is just slightly more difficult than driving a Focus ;)

I am NOT endorsing either person or their class...let's just say I took the classes with one of these guys (over a decade ago) and passed on my first shot with plenty of room to spare.
