In the name plate of 3phase squirrel cage induction motors we normally read kw,rpm,FLA,SF,design code,Hz,class of insulation,ambient temp etc but why they do not give LRC,no load current,why?. These two parameters will be useful for selecting power capacitor for PFC and motor starting. What the NEC/NEMA say regarding this?.

Calculate the Locked Rotor Current

The locked rotor current can be calculated by using the FLA (Full load amps) and the design code letter along with the table in 430 of the NEC.
