The specs for a glycol chiller indicate MCA 11 & MOCPD 18. Is it permissible to use the next standard size CB (20A)?

If you are limited to standard values, not using adjustable equipment, you would end up using a 15 breaker, to comply with both min and max, and maybe suffer some nuisance trips.

Who is the manufacturer? Sounds fishy to me as 18A is not a standard fuse or CB rating. If the minimum circuit ampacity is 11A, I'd most likely go with a 15A OCPD. However, try and get a cut sheet and do your own calculation to get the MCA and MOCP values.

This sounds curious. I have never seen a product marked with an MCA and max OCPD where the max OCPD did not correspond to a standard value.
