The time for public comment closed on March 21, 2022, so now onto 2023. I am new to this procedure, and this will be a learning process. Please feel free to make any suggestions. Is this a good idea or is this a stupid idea ? If the consensus is to forget it, I will.

Too late for anything associated with the 2023 code other than a TIA.
I doubt that would make the criteria for a TIA, so it would have to be a public input for a change for the 2026 code. The system will be open for the submission of PIs shortly after the 2023 is published this fall.

Changes like that cannot be made using a NITMAN...that process is only for making a change to something that the CMPs have included in the 2023 code, or an attempt to bring a resolved PI or PC back to life. After the NITMAN is submitted, it is reviewed and if accepted it will become a CAM (Certified Amending Motion) to be acted on at the NFPA meeting in June. The CAMs for the 2023 code will be debated and voted on in Boston on June 9th of this year. The details of those CAMs can be found here:
