I am pondering what offical statement the board will release in adopting 2008 NFPA-70, that is due to happen June 1st ?

I know Roger, an others are in the loop on what exactly is in this adoption with amendments, I just am wondering how us journeyman and others will get the word?

I'm not on the mailing list, and I think thats only for licensed holders only, there web pages has only the January newletter!

Many of the amendments have been made here, I just want to know the our state CODE requirements. Statements, comments, directions ! ?

They only put the newsletter out twice a year. Look at the dates from past newsletter- they vary year to year when they come out. Newsletters

Ode to June

June - Right on time for the 08 codes to apply.
I wonder if they will mention AFCI'S in the news letter.
I've heard we won't be required to use them until 09.
Doesn't matter to me, really. I just would like to know what if any thing of the NEC 08 is not going to be adopted by the state.

Any body know? Is a NC License reciprical with Indiana?

NC is not reciprocal with Indiana. Also, I am preparing to take the Limited test sometime around the end of summer. Does anyone know if that test will be based on 05 or 08?

Buck the newsletter is put out by the nc board of examiners of electrical contractors. They do not deal with code issue but rather licenses.

The department of insurance deal with the enforcement of the codes.

Here is the latest I have but Roger posted a link to this info. The 2008 has been adopted with these changes. The final vote was suppose to be last Tuesday but I don't know if anything new came out of it. I know Terry Cromer was trying to get the new rule on the SEU cable (60C rating) deleted

The licensing board will test until June 30 on the 2005 and after that time on the 2008

The ?Q? Board will test inspectors on the 2005 until September.
